Actually I was there... i was neither impressed nor abhored. I was sicker than a dog, but from what I saw Lime life put on a pretty good show. It was decent, although to me they seemed nervous. Actually, thought they seemed to be having fun.... Even though I boned out pretty quickly...
It's been great to get to know the guys in You Bring The Talent's winning band, Limelife. Their manager, Sam McCoy, is really on the ball and the gig went great. Now the band is working with Danny Wimmer (Sr. VP/A&R - Atlantic) and Sam Kling (Sr. VP/A&R - Peer Music) on making their EP. Also Val Wolfe has been coaching the band on touring.
We'll keep you updated on the happenings with Limelife and I look forward to featuring a lot of you and your music on SteeleInMusic.com
Here's the video recap of a great night of music at the House Of Blues in Hollywood.
After 4 months of incredible bands and singers we have finally arrived with the winning band. You Bring The Talent is proud to announce Atlantic Records newest signing: Limelife.
The first time I watched the video for Limelife's "Satisfaction Guaranteed" I knew it was something special. Here's a band that doesn't take itself too seriously but still has the chops to pull off the music. I immediately felt Iggy & The Stooges and some flavor of The New York Dolls coming out of Limelife. Here's the video.
Limelife's music doesn't try to be anything more than it is. Power pop with a punk edge. It's a trio of guys that met up in Hermosa Beach, California by way of South Carolina. Alex is the lead singer and guitarist, Beezer plays bass and Phillip in on drums.
My favorite song is "Obsess" -- the writing of both music and lyrics goes deep. That was an important thing to all the judges. We wanted to make sure that the artist we chose could have the best shot at a real career in the music business. And if you don't have the songs it's tough to make it very far.
Limelife has a great look and energy to them. Check out their Uber page here
We will be welcoming Limelife to the stage at the House Of Blues on the Sunset Strip April 28th. Then it's off to the studio with Peer Music to record and produce the EP that will come out on Atlantic Records.
Congratulations to Limelife for bringing the talent!!
I'm gonna bare by heart and soul here. I've been involved in the art and business of music for over 25 years now. I've been very fortunate to learn from some of the best in the business. I've made some mistakes and I've had some "big wins". That being said, this contest and the group of talent involved have proved to be one of the most complex situations I've ever been part of.
I've said this many times before and I hope you took my words seriously. You Bring The Talent is the real deal. It's not some "battle of the bands" contest with no payoff in the end. Of course, there is no guarantee in this or anything in life. But it's absolutely a big step up on your road to success.
Each and every judge in YBTT wants to make sure that the artist we pick has the best chance for success. The online community is the harshest judge of all. You Bring The Talent is about giving an artist or musician with the talent and skills to make "it" the real shot that they need to get there.
I had planned on announcing the winner by April 15th. As you can see that date has come and gone. We've had conference calls, email fights, listening sessions, and one on one, knock down, drag out phone calls trying to pick a winner. So far we've got it down to 3 artists that everyone has a VERY passionate opinion about signing.
Please know that we are truly taking this decision very seriously and it is taking a bit longer than I had hoped.
Thanks for being patient and know that the winning artist of You Bring The Talent will be someone that has been fretted over for the best chance at success.
More tomorrow...

We're having another call Wednesday morning. Yes, on the one had this process is frustrating. On the other hand I know we're
Busting out of Birmingham, Alabama is IntoNever. With flavors of metal, funk, rock and reggae, IntoNever tears it up live and on record.
The judges of You Bring The Talent really gravitated towards the song Jetta but there are many other great tracks. We all loved IntoNever's look and the way the songs have a rich texture and flow.

Nice job gentlemen...you've got a special band and you'll go far. Michael Steele
This well rounded musician really is the whole package. Check out Natalie Tidwell. Not only does she have an amazing voice, but she writes the music and lyrics on all of her songs. Natalie plays multiple instruments and even co-produces most of the tracks! Natalie is a rare talent in today's world.
When you first hear Natalie's music you will no doubt label is "country". But take a 2nd and 3rd listen and you'll hear so many other flavors and styles in her music. The song writing is strong and confident while still showing a sensitive side. And the production and musicianship on Natalie's songs are among the best we've ever heard.
Natalie Tidwell is just steps away from breaking thru and making it big in the music biz. Natalie, keep focused and we know you'll make it to the top! Congrats on being one the very best of You Bring The Talent.
Be sure to check out Natalie Tidwell's page and check out all her songs...
More tomorrow, thanks for bringing the talent. Michael Steele
